The most well known modality of Oriental Medicine is Acupuncture. Acupuncture is based on the theory that energy, or qi (pronounced chee), circulates throughout the body in channels called meridians, much like blood circulates throughout the body in arteries and veins. A healthy body is dependent on the free flow of this energy. When there is a blockage of this energy, pain or disease results. In an acupuncture treatment, a practitioner inserts tiny, sterile and disposable needles into specific points on the body to release these blockages of energy. By clearing these blockages, the body can restore its naturally fluid circulation of energy. World Health Organization: Acupuncture/National Institute of Health: Acupuncture
During an acupuncture session, our practitioners may include other treatments such as cupping therapy, gua sha, acupressure, or electro-stimulation to increase the efficacy of the treatment.

Tara Greenberg L.Ac, FABORM, is a licensed acupuncturist and fertility specialist who helps women understand their cycles and guides them on the journey to conception. Tara has helped countless women regulate their cycles, have more successful egg retrievals and embryo transfers, and has been an integral part in helping these women realize their dream of becoming a mother. Her patients have come to expect the expert knowledge, guidance, and compassion that she brings to each treatment. After becoming a mom herself, at 40 and 42, she understands the myriad of struggles on the path to creating a family.

In 2010 she decided to move across the country from NY to CA to begin her studies at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica. She chose this school (the #2 nationally ranked acupuncture school) and California because the state had the most stringent requirements and it is rumored that the California Acupuncture Licensing Exam (CALE) is the hardest in the nation. If she was going to start a new career, she wanted to do it in the most challenging and best place possible, that way she would be fully prepared and confident in her skills.

It was during this time that she had the opportunity to practice as an acupuncture intern at the Venice Family Clinic in Venice; Being Alive HIV clinic in West Hollywood; and the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Hospital in Burbank. She graduated from the program summa cum laude. After graduation she pioneered a successful acupuncture program at Rancho Santana in Nicaragua. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Pacific College of Health Sciences and she holds individual licenses, in both the state of California and nationally, as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. She is also a fellow of ABORM - the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine.

She fully specializes in women’s health, fertility support, and pain management and believes in the power and history of Eastern Medicine and feels that there is a place in today’s society for both Western and Eastern medicine - especially in concert with one another. They both have their strengths and can certainly complement one another. She looks forward to guiding you on this journey.
